Is Disability Insurance Expensive?

There are many factors that influence the cost of disability insurance:

  • Your current and past health.

The cost of not having disability insurance can be disastrous.

How do I apply and how long does it take?

  • After we help you choose the best disability policy for your specific needs, we will schedule a free medical exam for you. It should take about 15 minutes and they come to your home or office.
  • We complete the application with you on the phone at a time convenient for you. We then send to you for your signature. You return it to us with the required documentation (income statements, pay stubs, etc.) in the postage paid envelope we provide.
  • After we receive the application and necessary documentation, underwriting can take a couple of weeks to prepare the policy.

Are benefits taxable?

What is an “elimination” or waiting period and which should I choose?

What happens to my policy if I change my job or occupation?

  • If your new position offers a better rating for disability insurance, talk to your agent to see if replacing the policy is advisable.
